Dr. Stefan Biel is the new Director of Research and Development at LR Health & Beauty. "I am really looking forward to the new task and the challenge. Technology opens up vast possibilities. The graduate biotechnologist has extensive experience in the cosmetics and lifestyle sector. At Beiersdorf AG he has been responsible for various brands for 15 years in the area of analytics and research, for instance Nivea. Most recently Dr. Stefan Biel was in charge of the international consumer goods group Fontem Ventures in the field of product innovations. Due to his expertise, among others in the area of skin biology, he is not only sought after by companies, but also contributes to numerous specialist magazines and gives lectures.

LR in the press 

2016 was a successful year for LR, which is also evident from the publications in the media. "One of our goals in 2016 was to increase public awareness of the LR brand. Judging from the many articles that have been published, we have been successful,” said Dr. Thomas Stoffmehl, CEO of LR Health & Beauty. In total, LR was mentioned in over 1,500 contributions.

As varied as the company are the topics covered by the press. LR products are very well received in the media and were presented in numerous well-known magazines such as Für Sie, Freundin, Bild der Frau, Closer und Myself in 2016 - from the anti-aging system ZEITGARD to our LR fragrances through to the Aloe Vera products.

But the company and the LR business model were also extensively covered. Auto Bild, for instance, reported on the big LR car handover, the specialist magazine Markenartikel wrote a portrait of LR and Focus Money accompanied the project "CEO for 1 Day" as a cooperation partner.

Interview with Handelsblatt

Where is direct sales heading? How has the industry changed? How important are regular customers? Dr. Thomas Stoffmehl, CEO of LR Health & Beauty and Chairman of the European direct sales association Seldia, discussed these and many more questions with the German business newspaper Handelsblatt.

In October 2016, Dr. Thomas Stoffmehl was elected Chairman of Seldia. The association represents the direct sales industry in Europe. In an interview with Handelsblatt, Dr. Thomas Stoffmehl gives an insight into the direct sales industry which has been booming for many years now. In Europe alone, the sector recorded more than 32 billion euros in sales in 2015, almost half of which was generated in Germany - with upward tendency. Europe is the third largest market after Asia and the USA. Direct selling is in line with the consumer’s spirit of the times. Today, customers want to be addressed and advised individually. Record donation at LR Global Kids Fund

Huge success for LR Global Kids Fund: the association achieved a record in donations last year: a total of around EUR 340,000 were raised for the good cause. Increase of 52 percent compared to 2015.

The number of sponsoring members also increased significantly compared to the previous year: from 500 in 2015 to 795, an increase of 59%. “We have advanced the development of the LR Global Kids Fund even further last year. The significant increase in members is a testament to the association’s great work. I am very proud of that,” said Dr. Thomas Stoffmehl, Chairman of the LR Global Kids Fund. The donations go to national and international charity projects that promote the talents and health of children and young people. New projects include the RTL children's homes in Stuttgart and Leipzig, which received EUR 100,000 from the LR Global Kids Fund last year.

LR remains on growth track

With a turnover of approx. EUR 258 million, LR recorded an increase of 15 % (net of currency effects) compared to the previous year. In 2016, we developed more careers at LR worldwide than ever before. Thus, LR continues on the track for success.

The promotion and targeted support of the LR sales partners will take centre stage again in 2017. To this end, the careers of the sales partners must be developed and they must be given the opportunity to expand their network successfully. We have already taken appropriate measures in the past year, which are currently being developed further. The 17 year old student was “CEO for 1 Day” at LR Health & Beauty – a joint initiative of Focus Money and LR. A taut programme was waiting for the high school graduate: welcoming new employees, a CEO breakfast, a telephone conference with a top sales partner, a tour of the production site and a meeting at the LR Mediafactory. There was still time to have some fun, for instance at the kicker table. LR employees challenged the high school graduate and the CEO to a match. On track for success with the Body Mission

Our new 28-Days Body Mission has been on the market since the beginning of the year. LR nutritional experts have developed an overall concept that brings together all that is required for easy and healthy weight loss.

The programme includes tasty and well-balanced meals, physical exercises and lots of extras for sustained motivation. Feedback has been very positive so far. To date, the 28-Days Body Mission box has been ordered over 3500 times. The enthusiastic response from our LR partners shows us that we strike a chord with consumers with our 28-Days Body Mission.
