The cosmetics enterprise LR Health & Beauty, based in Westphalia, was nominated for the German Design Award for its product "ZEITGARD Cleansing Brush".

With the ZEITGARD Cleansing Brush, which was launched in June, the German cosmetics enterprise LR Health & Beauty has developed an electrical facial cleansing brush with matching cosmetic products that revolutionise classical cleansing – and were now even nominated for the German Design Award in the category "Bad & Wellness" (Bath & Wellness).

The ZEITGARD Cleansing Brush is a sophisticated and perfectly thought-out cleansing system. With more than 7,000 vibrations per minute, the oscillating brush head removes all traces of dirt and make-up particularly gently and without residues. Scientific studies* conducted by Institut Dermatest GmbH have revealed that, in combination with the cleansing products, the device cleanses the skin up to 10 times more efficiently than traditional manual cleansing. Compared to conventional brushes, the brush filaments that were developed exclusively for LR have rounded instead of cut-off ends and are treated with anti-bacterial microsilver.

The design is characterised by a linear, puristic look. The device sits ergonomically in the hand and the elliptic shape ensures that the thumb rests directly on the power button which provides for intuitive operation. The clear, elegant basic shape as well the choice of colours and materials impart a pure look and are a distinguishing brand feature of the ZEITGARD cosmetic products. "We are very proud that the nomination mentioned us in one breath with Germany's leading design-oriented brands. The nomination is a huge success for us and we are looking forward to the upcoming awarding ceremony in February," said Tilo Plöger, General Manager of LR.

The German Design Award is the international premium award of the German Design Council (Rat für Formgebung). Its aim: discovering, presenting and honouring unique design trends. The award, which was introduced in 2012, already counts among the world's most prestigious design contests and is held in high esteem far beyond professional circles. The awarding ceremony is to take place next year in February as part of the Frankfurt "Ambiente" trade fair.
